ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Thursday: Lima
Arrival in Lima and transfer to the hotel. Known as the gastronomical capital of the Americas, Lima offers an exciting blend of Spanish, Andean, and Asian culinary traditions. Evening at leisure.
Day 2 – Friday: Lima – Cusco – Yucay
Flight to Cusco, followed by a scenic transfer to the Sacred Valley. En route, visit the Cochauasi Wasi Sanctuary and the authentic “Mercado de Urubamba,” a lively local market. Arrival and overnight in Yucay.
Day 3 – Saturday: Yucay
Morning at leisure or choose from optional excursions such as visiting the Pisac Market, Moray and Maras Salt Mines, rafting on the Urubamba River, biking through the Sacred Valley, or hiking from Ollantaytambo to Cachicata. In the afternoon, visit the ancient Incan ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4 – Sunday: Yucay – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Full-day excursion to the legendary Machu Picchu, traveling aboard the Vistadome train. Explore the Incan citadel with a guided tour before returning to Cusco by train and bus.
Day 5 – Monday: Cusco
Half-day city tour of Cusco, visiting the Plaza de Armas—once the centre of the Incan Empire—and the magnificent cathedral built atop ancient Inca foundations. Continue to Sacsayhuaman fortress, an awe-inspiring testament to Incan engineering. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6 – Tuesday: Cusco – Puno
Enjoy a full-day scenic drive to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca, South America’s largest and highest navigable lake. Along the way, visit Andahuaylillas and its “Sistine Chapel of the Andes,” the temple of Wiracocha in Racchi, and Puka Pukara. Lunch included en route.
Day 7 – Wednesday: Puno
Full-day excursion on Lake Titicaca, visiting the floating islands of the Uros people and Taquile Island, known for its rich cultural traditions and Incan terracing. Lunch included.
Day 8 – Thursday: Puno – Colca Canyon
Transfer to the Colca Canyon, one of the world’s deepest canyons. Stop in the Aguada Blanca National Park, home to vicuñas and alpacas. Enjoy a lunch box en route and dinner at the hotel upon arrival.
Day 9 – Friday: Colca Canyon – Arequipa
Morning excursion to various viewpoints to observe the grandeur of the canyon and, if lucky, the majestic Andean condors. Visit the colonial towns of Maca and Yanque and enjoy lunch in Chivay before continuing to Arequipa in the late afternoon.
Day 10 – Saturday: Arequipa
Half-day city tour through Arequipa, known as the “White City” for its stunning architecture built from volcanic stone. Visit the main highlights and enjoy the city’s colonial charm.
Day 11 – Sunday: Arequipa – Lima
Transfer to the airport for flight to Lima. In the afternoon, sightseeing tour including the Larco Herrera Museum, which houses an impressive collection of pre-Columbian artifacts and ceramics.
Day 12 – Monday: Lima
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home or continue with an optional post-program extension.
