ITINERARY:

SUNDAY: TAORMINA AREA

Arrive at Catania Airport. After having collected your luggage, group transfer to the hotel. On this day there are no planned activities, the rooms will be ready after 14:00 and enjoy the city. Overnight

MONDAY: ETNA INCLUDED & TAORMINA AFTERNOON (OPTIONAL min 10 pax)

Breakfast in the hotel and departure with the tour escort to the Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the volcano constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “Silvestri Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the optional excursion by jeep and cableway (extra cost). After having tasted some local Sicilian speciality come back in hotel. Or have an optional walking tour in Taormina alone ( or with a guide min. 10 pax ) discovering the amazing town , hear tales about the history and the evolution of Sicilian culture. Pass by beautiful old buildings, including the 15th-century Palazzo Corvaja and an ancient Greek Roman theatre the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily (Admission fee not included). Discover the medieval area of the town with its narrow streets and old shops. Overnight in hotel .

TUESDAY: SYRACUSE (INCLUDED)

Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island with its Archeological Park (extra cost) the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus, the Cave of the Cordari, Island of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. Re-entry in hotel. Overnight.

WEDNESDAY: LIPARI & VULCANO ISLANDS (OPTIONAL)

Breakfast in the hotel. Aeolian islands are the patrimony of humanity as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Departure by bus with a tour leader to the port of Milazzo and proceed by private motorboat to the island of Lipari. Stop at the ground with the opportunity to visit the old town with the archaeological park and the cathedral. Free shopping time in the local shops on the island. Back on board and sail along the “Faraglioni”;and the “Horse’s Cave”. Continue by boat to Vulcano and stop on the island with the possibility to make sulfurous mud baths in a dedicated area paying the entrance fee. Mud prohibited to pregnant women and children. After returning by sea, sailing along the coast viewing the “Rock of the Little Mermaid”. Eco-tax to be paid on board the bus not included. Overnight.

(**) In case of bad weather condition the excursion to Lipari &Vulcano will be replaced with an alternative excursion.

THURSDAY: AGRIGENTO (OPTIONAL min. 12 pax )

Breakfast in the hotel. Meeting with tour escort and departure to Agrigento where you will visit the Temples’ Valley, including the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concorde (one of the best preserved Doric temples in the whole Greek world), the Temple of Hercules, the Temple of Castor and Pollux. Come back in hotel in Letojanni and overnight.

FRIDAY: TAORMINA COAST TO COAST BY BOAT (OPTIONAL ) – WINE TASTING (INCLUDED)

Breakfast in the hotel. In the morning Optional Excursion “TAORMINA COAST TO COAST BY BOAT”. On this tour you will discover the natural beauty of the coastline Giardini/Naxos-Taormina. The meeting will be at the port of Giardini Naxos and you can ask the rates of the transfer in hotel with supplement You will start the tour in a comfortable characteristic boat (max. 12 persons), to explore the Ionian Coast. From here you’ll have a fantastic view of mount. Etna and its area’s most breathtaking sights. On the way you can discover caves, including the visit of the well known “Grotta Azzurra” (due to weather conditions and currents), rock formations and the beautiful Nature Reserve of Isola Bella. In the afternoon included tasting of 3 wine varieties of Etna served with typical cold cuts and cheeses, bruschetta and traditional
foods. From 06:00 pm to 07:00 pm. Overnight in hotel (*) Pickup/end of the excursion in Giardini Naxos Port – The excursion is subjected to reconfirm according to weather conditions.

SATURDAY: HOP ON HOP OFF GODFATHER INCLUDED

Breakfast in the hotel. Green Line City By See: Taormina – Isola Bella – Letojanni – Sant’Alessio Siculo – Savoca – Forza d’Agrò Thanks to the stops and the timetable that regulates the service schedule, it is possible to get off at the desired stops, visit the attractions, and take the next bus with the same ticket. The tour is accompanied by a pre-recorded multilingual commentary. Tour Description: This open-top bus tour allows you to freely explore two important locations where several scenes of The Godfather were filmed: Savoca and Forzad’Agrò. Forza d’Agrò is a charming village perched on a hill overlooking Taormina, offering a cinematic walking tour through the villages made famous by The Godfather. As you stroll through the narrow streets of this small town, you can not only enjoy breathtaking views but also admire the Durazzesco Arch and the Cathedral, chosen as the setting for one of the film’s most romantic scenes — the wedding of Michael Corleone. From the panoramic square, you can enjoy an extraordinary view of the coastline. After visiting this little gem, you can continue your journey with the next stop in Savoca. This village is famous because several iconic scenes from The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola were filmed here. The buildings and monuments featured in the movie are still present, such as the famous Bar Vitelli, the same bar that appeared in The Godfather. Bus stop “CITYBYSEE” (GREEN LINE) in Letojanni, Piazza Cagli Departure time: 15:40 Back to hotel and Overnight.
