Cairo & Alexandria
6 Days / 5 Nights
Day 1 – Cairo
Upon arrival to Cairo, you will be met by our representative in Egypt and transferred to your hotel for overnight.
Day 2 – Cairo (Pyramids, Sakkara, and Memphis)
After breakfast your private Egyptologist tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your tour. Drive to Giza and visit the Pyramids. See the Great Pyramid, a royal burial chamber and the Sphinx. Continue to Memphis, capital of the pharaohs during the Old Kingdom. Visit the recumbent statue of Ramses II and the 80-ton alabaster sphinx. Lunch en route. Continue to Sakkara to see the prototype of the Pyramids, the Step Pyramid, built for the 3rd Dynasty pharaoh Djoser by the exalted architect Imhotep. Return to Cairo and visit a Papyrus Institute on your way back to the hotel, overnight. (B, L)
Day 3 – Cairo (Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Old Cairo, Khan El Khalily)
After breakfast visit the Egyptian Museum, this houses a magnificent collection of Pharaonic antiquities, especially the golden treasures of Tut Ankh Amun. In the afternoon you will proceed to Old Cairo to visit the citadel of Salah El Din, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque situated high above the city, Continue to visit the Church of Abu Serga, Moallaqa Church (Hanging Church) and Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in Egypt. Then have lunch in route. For those who wish to browse and shop, your tour will stop at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar displaying and selling all types of oriental goods, drive back to your hotel for overnight (B, L)
Day 4 – Cairo – Alexandria – Cairo
Breakfast, transfer to Alexandria in an air-conditioned private bus. Visit the Catacomb, Pompi Pillar, Greco Roman Theatre, Library of Alexandria. Enjoy lunch en route before returning to Cairo. Overnight. (B,L)
Day 5 – Free day at leisure
Breakfast, free day at leisure, overnight at hotel. (B)
Day 6 – Finale departure
You will be met at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
