ITINERARIO:
DAY 1 – LISBON – FATIMA – PORTO: Welcome!
DAY 2 – PORTO – BRAGA – GUIMARÃES – BOM JESUS – PINHAO – COIMBRA: We will head to the north of Portugal and visit FATIMA, an important sanctuary. We will continue our way to PORTO, Portugal’s second largest city. Free time to have lunch and afterwards we will have a sightseeing tour of this coastal city at the mouth of the Douro River with cobblestone streets and colorful houses, known for its imposing bridges and delicious wines. We will also include a visit to the old cellars. Free time.
DAY 3 – COIMBRA – BATALHA – NAZARE – ÓBIDOS – LISBON: Today we have beautiful landscapes in the north of Portugal. A walk through BRAGA, the religious capital of Portugal with its old cathedral. We take the oldest cable car in the world to the Sanctuary of BOM JESÚS, beautiful views, we suggest walking down admiring its wonderful staircase. GUIMARAES was the first capital of Portugal, its Palace of the Dukes reminds us of it. Time for lunch. Beautiful landscapes full of vineyards, going down to the Douro Valley. We pass by SABROSA, the birthplace of Magellan. At PINHAO we get to know its wonderful train station with all its tiles and we include a small cruise of approximately one hour along the Douro River (Note: From November to March the cruise does not operate, taking a trip along the panoramic road with stops at viewpoints following the Douro bank) We continue to COIMBRA, arriving at the end of the day. Dinner included in the hotel.
DAY 4 – LISBON: Time in COIMBRA, the third city in Portugal known for its old University and steep streets full of charm. We continue towards the south, we stop at the BATALHA MONASTERY (entrance included), an impressive medieval mausoleum of kings. Time for lunch and a walk in NAZARÉ, a town of fishermen and a seaside resort. We include the “elevator” that takes us up to the ancient city with impressive views of the Ocean. Already on our way to LISBON we make a stop in ÓBIDOS, one of the most beautiful towns in Portugal, with its white streets full of flowers. LISBON, arrival around 19:30 hrs.
