16 Days/ 15 Nights
Itinerary:
Day 01 – Lima
Arrival in Lima. Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Day 02 – Lima
City tour of colonial and modern Lima including a visit to a local market and the Larco Herrera Museum. This unique museum contains a large collection of pottery from Inca and pre-Inca civilizations as well as erotic art pieces. Dinner with Folklore show.
Day 03 – Lima – Paracas
Transfer in public bus along the Panamericana highway southwards to the fishing village Paracas. Overnight at a hotel in Paracas.
Day 04 – Excursion to Ica
Boat tour (shared basis) to visit the Ballestas Islands for wildlife observation. Excursion to visit the desert oasis Huacachina and the Regional Museum of Ica. The museum exhibits textiles, ceramics and various wooden instruments and soft metals from the Nazca and Paracas cultures.
Day 05 – Paracas – Lima
Optional flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines, a series of ancient geoglyphs in the Nazca Desert. Transfer with public bus back to Lima.
Day 06 – Lima – Arequipa
Flight to Arequipa. City tour through the colonial city of Arequipa including visit of the Santa Catalina Monastery. Overnight at the hotel in Arequipa.
Day 07 – Arequipa – Colca Canyon
Excursion to the Colca Canyon for a 2-day package including spectacular panoramic views of the canyon and lunch. Dinner and overnight at the hotel at Colca Canyon.
Day 08 – Colca Canyon – Puno
In the morning visit to the “Mirador Cruz del Condor”, the most popular point for viewing the canyon and to get a chance to see the famous Andean condors. Transfer to Puno including box lunch. Overnight at the hotel in Puno.
Day 09 – Puno
Day tour to the manmade islands of Uros and the unique culture of the Taquile Island (shared basis). The narrow island of Taquile is home to numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and Inca terracing. Lunch included.
Day 10 – Puno – Cusco
Full day panoramic drive (shared basis) to Cusco. Visit Puka Pukara, the Wiracocha temple and the chapel of Anahuaylillas. Lunch included. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11 – Cusco
Half day city tour of Cusco including a visit of the ruins around Cusco, like Sacsayhuaman.
Day 12 – Excursion to the Sacred Valley
Full day excursion to visit the famous Pisac market and the ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 13 – Excursion to Machu Picchu
Full day excursion by Vistadome train to the famous ruin site of Machu Picchu including guided visit and lunch. Return to Cusco by bus and train.
Day 14 – Cusco – Puerto Maldonado
Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer to a jungle lodge followed by a walk through the forest and a boat excursion by night. Full board included.
Day 15 – Puerto Maldonado
Hike to Sandoval Lake. Boat navigation to spot animals and marvel at the beautiful jungle. Exploration of the Canopy walkway and the Anaconda walk.
Day 16 – Puerto Maldonado – Lima
Flight to Lima for homebound flight.
