ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Montevideo

Arrival at Montevideo airport and transfer to the hotel. Optional early check-in available. Optional: city tour by bike through Montevideo’s charming neighborhoods and coastal promenade.

Day 2 – Montevideo

Full-day city tour of Montevideo. In the morning, visit major highlights such as the Congress Building, Prado neighborhood, Centenario Soccer Stadium, and the Old City with its famous Mercado del Puerto — a perfect place to stroll or enjoy lunch (not included). In the afternoon, choose between continuing the tour by car or on foot through the historic old town. Visit sites such as the Museo de Artes Decorativas, Taranco Palace, Museum of National History, Solis Theatre, and Salvo Palace (entrance fees not included).

Day 3 – Montevideo – Minas

Transfer to Minas and check in at Posada de Campo La Salamora. En route, stop in the small village of Villa Serrana and admire the picturesque Valle del Hilo de la Vida, a valley lined by a mountain shaped like a half moon, topped with small stone towers. Dinner at the hotel (drinks not included; lunch available depending on arrival time).

Day 4 – Minas

Day at leisure to relax or join one of the many activities offered by the hotel, such as horseback riding, hiking, or nature walks (some activities may not be included).

Day 5 – Minas – Valizas

Transfer to Posada Valizas, a peaceful coastal village surrounded by dunes and ocean views.

Day 6 – Valizas – Cabo Polonio – Valizas

Full-day jeep excursion across the dunes to the remote village of Cabo Polonio. Visit the lighthouse, explore the sea lion reserve, and soak in the unique atmosphere of this rustic fishing community before returning to Valizas.

Day 7 – Valizas – La Pedrera

Transfer to La Pedrera. Along the way, visit Palmares de la Coronilla, Punta del Diablo, and the Bosque de Ombúes—a remarkable forest of native Ombú trees.

Day 8 – La Pedrera – Punta del Este

Travel to Punta del Este with scenic stops. Visit the artisanal women’s fishing community APALCO at Rocha Lagoon, where you’ll learn about sustainable fishing practices and observe the area’s diverse birdlife. Continue to Alto de la Ballena, one of Uruguay’s most impressive boutique wineries, for a guided tour and wine tasting before arriving in Punta del Este.

Day 9 – Punta del Este

Day at leisure to explore the city’s beaches, shops, and restaurants. Optional: guided city tour including the Ralli Museum and Casapueblo, or an optional biking tour through Punta del Este’s coastal trails.

Day 10 – Punta del Este – Montevideo

Transfer back to Montevideo with a stop at the Reserva Indígena in Solís, a wildlife sanctuary that protects Uruguay’s native flora and fauna across ecosystems like grasslands, wetlands, and forests.

Day 11 – Montevideo – Colonia del Sacramento

Transfer to the Tres Cruces bus terminal and take a public bus to Colonia del Sacramento (without guide). Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a city tour of this UNESCO World Heritage city. Discover its cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and waterfront promenade before checking in to your hotel.

Day 12 – Colonia del Sacramento – Carmelo

Visit two traditional wineries in the Carmelo region, Irurtia and Cordano, to explore their facilities, learn about the local winemaking process, and enjoy wine tastings.

Day 13 – Colonia del Sacramento – Fray Bentos – Colonia

Full-day excursion to Fray Bentos, once known as the “Kitchen of the World.” Visit the historic Anglo Meatpacking Plant, now the Museum of the Industrial Revolution, and explore the town’s main square and scenic riverside promenade. Return to Colonia in the evening.

Day 14 – Colonia del Sacramento

End of the roundtrip. Option to continue your journey by ferry to Buenos Aires or by bus to Montevideo for your return or onward flight.
