Itinerary
Day 1 Lima
Arrival at the airport in Lima and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2 Lima
In the morning, enjoy a city tour through Lima, including the San Francisco Monastery, the Miraflores and San Isidro districts, as well as the Larco Museum with its pre-Colombian art. Afterwards, visit the capital’s bohemian district Barranco and the Victor Delfín Museum.
Day 3 Lima – Cusco – Yucay
Flight to Cusco. You will be transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Today, head to “Manos de la Comunidad” and learn how to differentiate Andean camelids. After, explore the Hacienda Sarapampa with the owners and have local lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a “Payment to Mother Earth” Ceremony with women Shaman Laura. You may opt to enjoy a Peruvian Paso Horse & Marinera Show during lunch.
Day 4 Yucay
Visit Maras and admire over 3,000 salt ponds and meet the Amilcar family. The women will show you how to make baskets of corn leaves and you get to enjoy a home-cooked meal. After, visit Pablo Seminario, a ceramic artist, and take part in a workshop to paint your own tile.
Day 5 Yucay – Aguas Calientes
Today, you will explore the ruins of Ollantaytambo and a typical home in the area. You will then be taken to the train station and board the panoramic train to Aguas Calientes. Discover Machu Picchu. Learn about the Inca civilization and the different theories on this mysterious archaeological site.
Day 6 Aguas Calientes – Yucay
You will have the opportunity to explore Machu Picchu again at your own pace. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the Sacred Valley and your hotel in Yucay.
Day 7 Yucay – Cusco
Drive to the small village of Chinchero, an old Incan settlement with colonial architecture and a colourful Sunday market. After, head to Parwa and meet the local soccer team, a weaving community founded by and made up of 100% women. They will show you their soccer skills and invite you to their weaving centre to explain their work. Optionally, you may enjoy a walking tour through Cusco in the dark to hear about this ancient city´s darkest secrets.
Day 8 Cusco
You may opt to enjoy a cooking class in the morning for a traditional Peruvian culinary experience. In the afternoon, go on a walking tour, including Koricancha, San Blas and the main square. After, discover Cusco´s Planetarium on a tour.
Day 9 Cusco – Lima – Paracas
Flight to Lima and transfer to Paracas. On the way, stop to purchase the best “filled bread” you will ever taste, a well-known secret amongst “limeños” heading south.
Day 10 Paracas
In the morning, you will depart toward Ica for an amazing lunch at a vineyard. After, visit a Pisco winery and Huacachina Oasis. You may also opt for an overflight of the Nasca Lines from Pisco
Day 11 Paracas – Lima
Board a speedboat to go to the Ballestas Islands. You will pass by the National Reserve of Paracas and observe animals in their natural habitats. After the tour, transfer back to Lima. Enjoy an amazing farewell dinner at Casa Garcia Alvarado.
Day 12 Lima
Transfer to the airport for your homebound flight. Optionally, explore a renovated section of the Callao district with its iconic streets, colonial architecture and impressive street art.
