London to Barcelona
11 Days / 10 Nights
DAY 1 – LONDON
Upon arriving at the airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel. Check the information boards in the hotel reception area for details of the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.
DAY 2 – LONDON
In the morning we include a panoramic tour of London: Westminster, the Parliament, the City, the Thames. Free time in the afternoon. Optionally, we offer you the possibility to visit the valley of the River Thames, together with the village of Windsor and its imposing castle. In the evening, we´ll meet at a meeting point in Piccadilly for a walk through Leicester Square, China Town and Soho, with its atmosphere, theatres and entertainment (this transfer can also be made the day before after arrival in London). Return to the hotel after that by coach.
DAY 3 – LONDON
Free day. You can enjoy the charm of this city. Free time to explore and discover memorable places.
DAY 4 – LONDON – CALAIS – AMIENS – PARIS
We will leave London for the continent. Ferry crossing to France and after a technical stop in Calais, we continue to AMIENS, known for its Gothic cathedral. You can walk through its narrow streets full of life, see the floating gardens and see the house where Jules Verne lived. After that we continue to PARIS. Arrival at the end of the day.
DAY 5 – PARIS
We come into contact with the history of France in the immense Palace of Versailles (admission not included) with its beautiful gardens. After that, on our way back to Paris, we head to Montmartre, and take a cable car (included) to go up to this bohemian neighborhood known for its painters, artists and cabarets. To contemplate the beauty of the impressive avenues and monuments of Paris, you will have the city tour with a local guide. Return to the hotel. Optionally you can attend the variety show.
DAY 6 – PARIS – TOURS
We go to the center of Paris, starting by the Eiffel Tower area. You will have the opportunity to go up to the second floor of this remarkable metal monument (ticket included). Then we enjoy a boat cruise along the River Seine, which divides the north of Paris from the south. At 17:30 hrs. we leave Paris for the Loire Valley. TOURS, arrival in the evening to the capital of the Loire, where we recommend you having a walk and dinner in its beautiful historic center.
Note: in some cases the waits to go up the Eiffel Tower are long. Thus the climb may take place at a different time (or on Sunday), if it is considered convenient for organizational reasons.
DAY 7 – TOURS – BORDEAUX – LOURDES
Today we will travel to the south of France across fragrant vineyards. We arrive in BORDEAUX whose town centre was declared a World Heritage Site. Here we will have time to have lunch and explore. We suggest that you visit the Port of the Moon and St Andrew’s Cathedral. We will then continue our trip and head towards the Pyrenees. LOURDES, arrival in the late afternoon. You can attend the candle procession (which takes place from late March until the end of October) and visit places of worship. We include the dinner at the hotel for all of our passengers.
DAY 8 – LOURDES – CARCASSONNE – FOIX – ANDORRA
We travel through the south of France, CARCASSONNE, time to explore and have lunch in this city
famous for its medieval walls, its impressive castle and the picturesque historic district (la Cite). After that we continue towards the Pyrenees mountain range. FOIX, a brief stop to stroll through the medieval city dominated by its impressive castle of the Counts of Foix. We continue towards the high mountains of the Pyrenees, with snowy peaks all year round. We enter ANDORRA, a small country whose official language is Catalan. On our route we make a short stop next to SANT JOAN DE CASELLES, a small Romanesque church from the 12th century. We continue to ANDORRA LA VELLA, capital of the principality of Andorra, free time to get to know the city with a lot of commercial life, or
you can go to “Caldea”, the largest thermal spa in Europe. Dinner included.
DAY 9 – ANDORRA – MONTSERRAT – BARCELONA
We will have free time in ANDORRA for shopping and exploring. After lunch, we will continue our trip and head to Catalonia. The mountain countryside leads us to the impressive site of the MONTSERRAT MONASTERY, where you will go up the mountain on a rack train to see its fantastic scenery. Following this we will continue to BARCELONA, arriving in the late afternoon.
DAY 10 – BARCELONA
In the morning we include a city tour of Barcelona, considered one of the most interesting European capitals, open to the Mediterranean Sea, famous for Gaudí and its modernist architecture, also for the ramblas and the memories of the Universal Exhibitions and Olympics that took place there. Free time in the afternoon. In the evening we include a transfer to the Maremagnum, a modern leisure center and restaurants facing the sea, next to Plaza Colón, where you can stroll through this lively area and dine.
DAY 11 – BARCELONA
After breakfast, end of our services.
