11 Days / 10 Nights
ITINERARY:
Day 1 – San Cristobal Island
Arrival at San Cristobal Island. Visit the Interpretation Center to learn about the Galapagos’ history, ecosystems, flora, and fauna. Short walk to Frigate Bird Hill to observe magnificent frigate birds and enjoy panoramic views over the town and bay.
Day 2 – San Cristobal Island
Trekking to La Lobería, a coastal area named for its large sea lion population. Along the trail, observe button mangrove, white mangrove, cotton, and other coastal species. Enjoy free time at the beach before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Day 3 – San Cristobal Island – Santa Cruz Island
Transfer to Santa Cruz Island. Explore the highlands with the Twin Craters, visit a lava tunnel, and see giant tortoises in their natural environment. After lunch, take a 45-minute walk to Tortuga Bay, a pristine beach where marine iguanas, sharks, and sea turtles can be observed.
Day 4 – Santa Cruz Island
Full-day hiking tour to Cerro Crocker. Start from Bellavista town and walk 8 km to the summit (864m) for spectacular panoramic views. Hike past Media Luna, an old volcanic cone. Return and visit the Charles Darwin Research Center.
Day 5 – Santa Cruz Island
Boat excursion to one of the uninhabited neighboring islands with lunch on board. Options include North Seymour, Bartholomew with Pinnacle Rock, Santa Fé, or South Plaza Island, each offering unique wildlife and landscapes.
Day 6 – Santa Cruz – Floreana Island
Transfer to Floreana Island. Visit the Pirate Caves, a historic source of fresh water, and walk back to the village of Puerto Velazco Ibarra.
Day 7 – Floreana Island
Early morning hike to Post Office Bay, encountering turtles, flamingos, pintails, stilts, and a variety of colorful birds. Return to the village by boat.
Day 8 – Floreana – Isabela Island
Hike at Cerro Allieri, home to diverse flora and fauna, including the critically-endangered medium tree finch. Transfer to Isabela Island.
Day 9 – Isabela Island
Visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center, Laguna of the Flamingos, and Las Tintoreras to observe marine life up close.
Day 10 – Isabela Island
Hiking tour to the rim of Sierra Negra Volcano, the second-largest caldera in the world, and Volcano Chico. In the afternoon, enjoy views of Isabela and Fernandina’s northern volcanoes.
Day 11 – Isabela Island – Guayaquil/Quito
After a speedboat transfer to Santa Cruz Island, continue to Baltra airport for your flight back to Guayaquil or Quito
