Itinerary:
Day 1. Athens
Upon arrival at the Athens airport our friendly staff will transfer you to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 2. Athens
Half day private walking Jewish tour of Athens
Starting our tour at Syntagma (Constitution square), next to the parliament building and its famous guards, we head for the Jewish Museum of Athens (entrance fee not included & it is 6 Euro per adult and 3 Euro per student). We walk in the alleys of Plaka, passing the ancient Agora, where the ancient Synagogue once was, and heading for the eternal Jewish neighborhoods, Monastiraki, Thissio and Psiriï
Among our walks and stops in the winding alleys of those charming neighborhoods, you will see the houses and shops and feel the ambiance of some of the oldest regions in the city of Athens. You will hear the history of the Jewish population in Athens and Greece and you will see old photographs of the places we visit, making it easy for you to visualize the everyday life of the Greek-Jews, on those very alleys. We will visit the old Jewish market, still named after the Jewish family who opened the first antique shop there. We will of course visit the Synagogues of Athens, and the Monument of the Holocaust.
The classical Athenian archeological sites are also included! We will pass by some Roman monuments, the remains of the Ottoman Mosques, Byzantine churches and beautiful neoclassical constructions of the 19th century.
Furthermore, we can stop for coffee under the Acropolis, where we will rest, getting the best view of the Parthenon.

Day 4. Athens- Thessaloniki
After breakfast transfer to the Athens airport for your flight to Thessaloniki.
Upon arrival transfer to hotel.
Day 5. Thessaloniki

It is performed by very knowledgable escorts, local Jews from Thessaloniki, whose families have lived there for more than 500 years! The most important Jewish sites are included in this tour. You will love the deep knowledge of your escort, hear extraordinary stories, and in the end you will have a great idea of the importance of the Jewish presence in this city.
After a short orientation about the jewish history of the city, we will walk together through the historical centre of Thessaloniki, where jewish life used to flourish, from the 15th century until World War II.
We start the tour by visiting the main Synagogue “Monastirioton”, the only one pre-war synagogue out of the 43, still existing in the city. We continue to the Yad Lezikaron synagogue, the Modiano market, both of them in the heart of the former quarter of Jewish life in the city. We proceed to the Yahudi Hamam in the same area, and the Allatini Bank in the area of Frangon, the heart of the commercial life of the past.
We then visit the wonderful Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, where the magnificent Jewish past of the city will be clarified to the visitors. The tour will be concluded by a visit to the Shoah monument (Holocaust memorial) at Liberty Square, where the first prosecution was effected from the Nazis towards the Jews of the city. By strolling through the streets of the center of Thessaloniki, the visitor is also able to see the most beautiful part of the city.This tour lasts about 3-4 hours.

Day 7 Thessaloniki
Our friendly staff will transfer you to the Thessaloniki airport for your return flight home.
