12 Days/ 11 Nights
Itinerary:
Day 01 – Lima
Arrival in Lima and hotel transfer. In the afternoon orientation meeting with the photographer guide.
Day 02 – Lima – Cusco
Flight to Cusco, ancient capital of the Inca Empire, and afternoon walking tour. Catch the last light on the Cathedral on Plaza de Armas, then photograph the place when the light changes to twilight.
Day 03 – Cusco – Sacred Valley
Sunrise shoot at Cristo Blanco. Continue to the site of Sacsayhuaman, then on to Pisac, stop on the way for photo shoots of the Andes Mountains and at Awanakancha, a weaving cooperative, where guests can photograph traditional weavers, llamas and alpacas. Afternoon visit to the ruins of Pisac, photograph the ruins & the valley at the last light.
Day 04 – Sacred Valley
Market day! Morning visit to Pisac Sunday market, photograph the villagers in their traditional dresses. Afternoon visit to Chinchero market, sunset shooting, with the last light hitting the picturesque church.
Day 05 – Sacred Valley
Morning exploration of the Inca ruins and town of Ollantaytambo, with snow-capped Andes rising in the background. Afternoon visit to a local family and small culture workshop. Then photograph the Salinas salt pans (Maras) when reflecting the sunset.
Day 06 – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Sacred Valley
Guests take the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu. Guided tour and then time for photographing until the end of the day, when the majority of visitors has left.
Day 07 – Sacred Valley – Cusco
Guests will get up early to enter the ruins again, and wait for the first daylight to arrive. They spend several hours of free photographing. Return to Cusco.
Day 08 – Cusco – Puno
Scenic drive to Puno, including individual photo stops.
Day 09 – Puno (Lake Titicaca)
Today guests explore the remote Lake Titicaca. Visit to the floating islands of the Uros people and photographing of scenes of their daily life. Taquile offers wonderful lake scenes & colorful folk traditions.
Day 10 – Puno – Lima
Optional sunrise shoot at Lake Titicaca, or time at leisure for own photo explorations. In the afternoon guests take a flight back to Lima.
Day 11 – Lima
City tour of Lima with visit to the artist district Barranco. Afternoon at leisure, optional street photography at Miraflores district and Surquillo Market.
Day 12 – Lima
Transfer to the airport and homebound flight OR jungle extension and wildlife photographing at the Amazon.
