12 Days/ 11 Nights
Itinerary:
Day 01 – São Paulo
Upon arrival in the biggest city of South America, transfer to the hotel. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 02 – São Paulo
Full day visit of the city, including Paulista Avenue in the financial district, Jardins luxury district Ibirapuera Park, the Morumbi upscale district including Governor’s Palace, the Morumbi Soccer Stadium and Casa da Fazenda, a former slaves house. Lunch will be included.
Day 03 – São Paulo – Curitiba
Flight to Curitiba, the city with the highest standard of living and also the one with the strongest European influence. In the evening dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 04 – Curitiba
Visit the main attractions of the city along the Tiradentes Square: the cathedral, the historical federal University, the Guaíra theater, Bosque do Alomão and the pedestrian streets “Rua das Flores” and “Largo da Ordem” in the historical area. Continue to visit the museum of Brazilian star-architect Oscar Niemeyer. Lunch will be included.
Day 05 – Curitiba – Belo Horizonte
Flight to Belo Horizonte, the Capital of Minas Gerais State, is a quite young city, the first planned city built in Brazil. Half day city tour to visit the Pampulha Lake, a district where guests can see the first works of world-renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, landscape projects by Burle Marx and paintings by Portinari.
Day 06 – Belo Horizonte
Full day excursion to visit Centro de Arte Contemporânea Inhotim, the finest outdoor contemporary art centre in the world, locatd in Brumadinho, 60km away from Belo Horizonte. The museum displays around 450 works by 100 artists from 30 countries in over two dozen gallery pavilions, embedded in a generous garden.
Day 07 – Belo Horizonte – Brasilia
Flight to Brasilia, the Brazilian capital. It is considered as one of the 20th century’s most important milestones in architecture and city planning, declared by UNESCO as one of Mankind’s Cultural Landmarks. Dinner included.
Day 08 – Brasilia
Full day city tour of Brasilia, which covers amongst others the following highlights: the residential blocks, the Military Sector with Army headquarters, JK Memorial, the National Cathedral, etc. Stop for lunch at a local BBQ restaurant.
Day 09 – Brasilia – Rio de Janeiro
Flight to Rio de Janeiro. The so called Marvellous City is a beach resort, located by the Atlantic Ocean and by the big Guanabara Bay. Rio is graced by its topography. Delicious dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 10 – Rio de Janeiro
Full day city tour to visit the top of Corcovado and the Sugar Loaf. Continue to the downtown area, passing by the financial and business district and the Sambodróme, site of Rio’s famous Carnival parade. Lunch at a seafood restaurant included.
Day 11 – Rio de Janeiro
3-hour Favela tour (SIB). Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Niteroi. Take a picture at the Oscar Niemeyer designed Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum. Proceed along the main beaches and return to Rio by crossing the 14 km length Presidente Arthur Costa e Silva Bridge, which links the cities of Rio and Niterói.
Day 12 – Rio de Janeiro
Transfer to the airport and homebound flight.
