ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Bogotá
Arrival in Bogotá, Colombia’s vibrant capital. Meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 – Bogotá
Enjoy a half-day city tour beginning at the colorful Paloquemao Market, one of the city’s liveliest food markets. Continue through La Candelaria, Bogotá’s historic colonial neighborhood, and walk across Plaza de Bolívar, surrounded by important landmarks. Visit the world-famous Gold Museum, home to thousands of pre-Columbian artifacts, and the Fernando Botero Museum, showcasing works by Colombia’s most iconic artist.
Day 3 – Bogotá
Full-day excursion to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a breathtaking underground church built inside a salt mine. Continue to the Lagoon of Guatavita, the legendary site that inspired the El Dorado myth. Visit a local farm to experience traditional Colombian rural life and enjoy a glimpse into the customs of the region.
Day 4 – Bogotá – Armenia
Flight to Armenia, located in the heart of Colombia’s lush Coffee Triangle. Meet local experts who will share the secrets of coffee cultivation — from bean picking to roasting — before you enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee you’ve prepared yourself.
Day 5 – Coffee Triangle
Discover the stunning landscapes of the Cocora Valley, where towering wax palms — Colombia’s national tree — rise majestically against the Andes. Continue to Salento, a charming colonial town known for its colorful architecture, and then visit Filandia, perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the surrounding coffee region and, on clear days, the snow-capped peaks of Los Nevados National Park.
Day 6 – Armenia – Cartagena
Fly to Cartagena, the “Jewel of the Caribbean.” This UNESCO World Heritage city enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, flower-draped balconies, and colonial architecture framed by turquoise sea views.
Day 7 – Cartagena
Guided city tour through Cartagena’s historical center, including the imposing San Felipe Fortress, built to defend the city from pirates, and the San Pedro Claver Monastery, dedicated to the patron saint of enslaved people. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to soak up the city’s Caribbean charm.
Day 8 – Cartagena
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Bogotá or onward journey.
