Peru, Colombia – Highlands & Carribean

ITINERARY:

Day 1 – Lima

Arrival in Lima, the capital of Peru. This vibrant city is known for its historic centre, art galleries, archaeological sites, and strong cultural traditions. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 – Lima – Cusco – Yucay

Flight to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Visit the Chinchero community and its authentic Sunday market, followed by a stop at “El Mirador de Racchi” for a breathtaking view of the valley. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local home before continuing to Yucay.

Day 3 – Yucay

Morning at leisure or choose from optional excursions such as visiting the Pisac Market, rafting on the Urubamba River, biking through the Sacred Valley, or hiking from Ollantaytambo to Cachicata. In the afternoon, visit the impressive ruins of Ollantaytambo.

Day 4 – Yucay – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Full-day excursion to the world-famous Machu Picchu. Travel by Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, then visit the “Lost City of the Incas” with a guided tour. In the afternoon, return by bus and train to Cusco.

Day 5 – Cusco

Half-day city tour of Cusco, showcasing its unique blend of Incan and colonial architecture. Visit the main square and the nearby ruins, including the grand fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 6 – Cusco – Puno

Panoramic drive to Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca (seat-in service). Along the way, visit Andahuaylillas—home to the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes”—the temple of Wiracocha in Racchi, and the small town of Pucara. Lunch included en route.

Day 7 – Puno – Lima

Full-day boat excursion on Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Visit the floating islands of the Uros Indians and Taquile Island, known for its traditional weaving culture. Lunch included. Transfer to Juliaca for flight to Lima.

Day 8 – Lima

City tour of colonial and modern Lima, including visits to the San Francisco Convent and the Larco Herrera Museum—home to the world’s largest private collection of pre-Columbian art.

Day 9 – Lima – Bogotá

Flight to Bogotá, Colombia’s high-altitude capital surrounded by the Andes Mountains. Transfer to hotel and evening at leisure.

Day 10 – Bogotá

City tour exploring Bogotá’s colonial district, the Gold Museum—featuring the world’s most extensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold artifacts—and the Botero Museum. Continue to Zipaquirá to visit the spectacular underground Salt Cathedral, entirely carved from salt.

Day 11 – Bogotá – Cartagena

Flight to Cartagena, Colombia’s Caribbean jewel. Enjoy a guided tour of the city, including the San Pedro Claver Convent, a photo stop at the fortress of San Felipe, and a walking tour through the beautifully preserved colonial centre.

Day 12 – Cartagena

Day at leisure to explore the city’s charming streets, visit local markets, or relax on the beaches. Optional excursions available.

Day 13 – Cartagena

End of the roundtrip. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight or continue on an optional post-tour extension.
