ITINERARY:
Day 1 – Lima
Arrival in Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru known for its historic center, art galleries, archaeological sites, and strong cultural traditions.
Day 2 – Lima – Cusco – Yucay
Flight to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley. En route, visit the Cochauasi Wasi sanctuary, dedicated to rescued native animals, and explore the Mercado de Urubamba, an authentic local market filled with traditional produce and crafts.
Day 3 – Yucay
Morning at leisure with optional excursions such as visiting Pisac Market, rafting on the Urubamba River, biking in the Sacred Valley, or hiking from Ollantaytambo to Cachicata. Enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant before visiting the ancient Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4 – Yucay – Machu Picchu – Cusco
Travel aboard the Vistadome train to visit the legendary Incan citadel of Machu Picchu. Enjoy a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the world’s most iconic archaeological wonders. Return to Cusco by train and bus.
Day 5 – Cusco
Half-day city tour of Cusco, exploring Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an impressive Incan architectural masterpiece overlooking the city.
Day 6 – Cusco – Puno
Scenic full-day drive to Puno on the shores of magnificent Lake Titicaca. Along the way, visit Andahuaylillas with its Sistine Chapel of America, the Temple of Wiracocha in Racchi, and Puka Pukara. Lunch included.
Day 7 – Puno – Lima
Day tour of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Visit the floating Uros Islands, made entirely of reeds, and Taquile Island, known for its pre-Incan ruins and traditional weaving culture. Lunch included. Transfer to Juliaca Airport for flight to Lima.
Day 8 – Lima
Explore colonial and modern Lima on a city tour, including a visit to the Larco Herrera Museum, home to one of the world’s most complete collections of Inca and pre-Inca artifacts.
Day 9 – Lima – Quito (Ecuador)
Fly to Quito, Ecuador’s capital city, nestled high in the Andes and surrounded by snow-capped volcanic peaks.
Day 10 – Quito
Half-day city tour of Quito, visiting the colonial center, ornate churches, and the Equatorial Monument (Middle of the World), where you can stand with one foot in each hemisphere.
Day 11 – Quito
Day at leisure.
Optional: Full-day excursion to the colorful Otavalo Market, famous for its vibrant textiles, handicrafts, and Andean music.
Day 12 – Quito
End of the roundtrip and departure for your homebound flight or optional Galapagos Islands extension.
