Itinerary:
Day 1 – Montevideo
Arrival at Montevideo airport or port. Begin your journey with a city tour of Uruguay’s capital, visiting Plaza de la Constitución with its cathedral and colonial town hall. Admire the Teatro Solís, then continue to Plaza Independencia to see the monument and mausoleum of national hero Artigas.
Day 2 – Montevideo
Full-day excursion to the elegant beach resorts of Piriápolis and Punta del Este, a favorite destination for the international jet set. Visit the dazzling white Casapueblo, a cliffside architectural wonder, and cross the famous “wavy” bridge to explore La Barra. Free time for lunch and shopping before returning to Montevideo.
Day 3 – Montevideo
Day at leisure.
Optional: Visit a local winery for wine tasting and lunch, or enjoy horseback riding through the natural landscapes of Penino and Pascual beaches.
Day 4 – Montevideo – Colonia del Sacramento – Buenos Aires
Transfer by public bus to Colonia del Sacramento. Discover the charming colonial old town on a guided walking tour before boarding the ferry across the Río de la Plata to Buenos Aires.
Day 5 – Buenos Aires
City tour of Buenos Aires including a stop at Café Tortoni, the city’s oldest and most famous café. In the evening, experience Argentina’s passion for tango with dinner and a live show (shared basis).
Day 6 – Buenos Aires
Day at leisure.
Optional: Visit the Tigre Delta, explore a traditional estancia for a gaucho show and barbecue, or stroll through the San Telmo Antique Fair (Sundays only).
Day 7 – Buenos Aires – Iguassú
Transfer to the airport for your flight (not included) to Iguassú. Visit the Argentine side of the Iguassú National Park, including the breathtaking Devil’s Throat, the highest and most powerful waterfall in the region.
Day 8 – Iguassú
Explore the Brazilian side of the falls for panoramic views of the entire cascade system.
Day 9 – Iguassú – Rio de Janeiro
Transfer to the airport for your flight (not included) to Rio de Janeiro, one of the world’s most spectacular metropolises, framed by forested mountains and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.
Day 10 – Rio de Janeiro
Full-day city tour including the Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado Hill with its famous Christ the Redeemer statue.
Optional: Experience an evening Samba Show to feel the rhythm and soul of Brazil.
Day 11 – Rio de Janeiro
Transfer to the airport for your homebound flight or post-tour extension.
