Itinerary:
Day 1, Sunday: Madrid – Aranjuez
Reception of passengers at 10:00 a.m. at a location to be determined in Madrid. Panoramic tour of Madrid and Lunch in the capital. In the afternoon, we will transfer to Aranjuez, where the train awaits. Welcome toast and overnight stay on board. We will then visit the Royal Palace of Aranjuez and its gardens. A World Heritage Site, where history and beauty fill every corner of this royal site. Dinner on board. Overnight in Aranjuez.
Day 2, Monday: Aranjuez – Toledo – Alcázar de San Juan
After breakfast, we will visit Toledo, a World Heritage Site that was once the most monumental Imperial city in Europe. The blend of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish architecture, with its architectural representations—the Gothic cathedral, the 10thcentury mosque, and two synagogues—has given Toledo its universal character. Lunch in Toledo and free time before returning to the train in Aranjuez. While we dine on board, the train will arrive at Alcázar de San Juan. Overnight stay in Alcázar de San Juan.
Day 3, Tuesday: Alcázar de San Juan – Cáceres
After breakfast, we’ll visit how two of the most famous products of this La Mancha region, internationally known for its cheeses and wines, are produced. We’ll visit an artisanal cheese factory and a wine cellar. Lunch will be served in the area. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Campo de Criptana, with its characteristic windmill landscape, a source of inspiration for Cervantes in his work Don Quixote. We’ll return to Alcázar de San Juan, from where we’ll depart by train, having Dinner, to reach Cáceres. Overnight stay in Cáceres.
Day 4, Wedneday: Cáceres – Mérida –Jerez
After breakfast on board, we’ll visit Cáceres, a World Heritage City, where the streets, squares, and palaces are magnificently preserved, thanks to its cultural mix that makes it a unique cultural experience. Later, we’ll arrive by train for Lunch in Mérida. In the afternoon, we’ll visit this city of the ancient Roman Empire, also a World Heritage City, founded in 25 BC, where we’ll explore its remains and history. While we dine on board, the train will depart for Jerez. Overnight stay in Jerez de la Frontera.
Day 5, Thursday: Jerez de la Frontera
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy the city and the show “How the Andalusian Horses Dance,” a famous equestrian ballet set to Spanish music. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, followed by an afternoon visit to a popular winery. Dinner on board and overnight stay in Jerez.
Day 6, Friday: Jerez – Cádiz – Córdoba
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Cádiz, popularly known as the “Silver Cup” and considered the oldest city in the West. Lunch will be served on board before the train arrives in Córdoba, where we’ll visit its Mosque-Cathedral and continue our tour of what was once the capital of the medieval Emirate and Caliphate of Al-Andalus, when it was the largest, most cultured, and opulent city in Western Europe. Dinner and overnight stay in Córdoba.
Day 7, Saturday: Córdoba – Sevilla
After our final breakfast as we arrive in Seville, we’ll bid farewell to the train and its crew. We’ll visit Seville, home to the largest historic center in Spain. A World Heritage City, it boasts a wealth of art and beautiful gardens. The journey will end around 1:30 p.m.
