6 Days – 5 Nights
Itinerary:
Day 1, WEDNESDAY: Oviedo – Viveiro
Luggage check-in from 12:00 h to 15:30 h at Oviedo’s Renfe Station, under the roof known as La Losa (1st floor opposite the Metric Gauge Offices).
Guided tour of the city at 16:30 h. Welcome drink on board the train, presentation of the crew, and settling in. Catering dinner on board, while the train sets off for Galicia. Overnight train journey to Viveiro.
Day 2, THURSday: Viveiro
Early arrival in Viveiro. We will begin every day by enjoying our delicious buffet breakfast. After breakfast, coach transfer to Ferrol for pilgrims that want to complete the first stage: Ferrol–Pontedeume (26 km). For those not interested in walking, transfer to the Iberia Peninsula’s northernmost point, the cape of Estaca de Bares, thereafter visiting Bares Beach and O Barqueiro, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer of day-trippers to the train. On the other hand, the walkers will be picked up at Pontedeume to return to Viveiro. Free time for dinner and overnight stay in Viveiro on board the train.
Day 3, Friday: Viveiro – Ortigueira
While having breakfast, the train will take us to Ortigueira. From there, we will take the pilgrims by coach to Pontedeume to begin the second stage as far as Abegondo (31 km). In the case of day-trippers, we will visit the San Andrés de Teixido Sanctuary and Cedeira, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer of day-trippers to the train, while the walkers will be picked up in Abegondo to return to Ortigueira. Free time for dinner and overnight stay in Ortigueira.
Day 4, SATURday: Ortigueira – Ferrol
After breakfast, the coach will take the pilgrims to the start of the third stage, Abegondo–A Calle (25 km). The other passengers will travel by coach to A Coruña, where they will spend the morning, with some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will go back to the train in Ferrol. This evening, we will all have dinner together in a traditional “Pulpería” (octopus restaurant). Overnight stay in Ferrol.
Day 5, SUNday: Ferrol – Santiago de Compostela – Oviedo
After breakfast on board the train, coach transfer of pilgrims to the start of the fourth and last stage, from A Calle to Santiago de Compostela (27 km). Once they arrive in Santiago, they will have free time until the evening. The rest of the passengers will travel by coach from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. Free time in Santiago. In the late evening, both pilgrims and tourists will return to the train in Ferrol. During the catering dinner on board the train, we will set off for Oviedo. Overnight train journey.
Day 6, MONday: Oviedo
Early arrival in Oviedo by train. We will have breakfast on board before saying goodbye to the crew and train, ending our trip around 11:00 h.
