10 Days / 9 Nights

ITINERARY:

Day 1 Arrival: Welcome to Saudi Arabia: After you arrive in Riyadh and go through customs and immigration, we will meet and greet you at the airport, provide you with private transportation to the hotel, and ensure that you have everything that you need to get settled in.

Day 2 Diriyah & the Kingdom Centre: We kick off our tour by discovering the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and exploring its capital city, Riyadh. First, we head to Diriyah, the place where it all started. About 300 years ago, the First Saudi State (the predecessor to modern-day Saudi Arabia) was initially established in Diriyah, the hometown of the Royal Family. During our tour of Diriyah (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), we stroll through its halls, explore historic buildings, and visit museums. Lunch is at the main courtyard, which is home to a variety of world-renowned restaurants. You also get the opportunity to buy souvenirs at one of the traditional shops there. Afterwards, we head to the Kingdom Centre. At 1,000 feet tall, this skyscraper is one of the tallest towers in Saudi Arabia. We will get to the top of the Kingdom Centre and take in the breathtaking view of the entire skyline of Riyadh.

Day 3 Al Masmak & Al Muraba’a Fortresses: On this day, we further delve into the Kingdom’s history by touring these two historical fortresses:

Al Masmak: This 150-year-old fortress was one of the first battlegrounds in King Abdulaziz’s campaign to unify Saudi Arabia, and its fall marked the beginning of a new era. On our tour, we visit the al Masmak heritage museum and stroll through the fortress’s towers, courtyard, and former residential units (which were converted into display halls) to visually explore this symbol of Saudi history.

Al Muraba’a: This historical complex was built in 1939, and it consisted of the official residence of King Abdulaziz (modern-day Saudi Arabia’s founder), the then administrative headquarters of the country, and a place for the King to greet and host world leaders and foreign delegations.

Day 4 Goodbye Riyadh, Hello Al Ula: After having breakfast at the hotel and checking out, we head to the airport for our flight to al Ula, an ancient oasis town in the northwest of Saudi Arabia. Al Ula is home to heritage sites that date back to thousands of years ago, the largest mirrored building in the world (which hosts concerts and conferences), and outdoors landscapes that the likes of which truly can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

Day 5 Al Ula: On day 5, we get to explore the history and natural beauty of al Ula. Here, we visit the following sites:

Hegra: Hegra is Saudi Arabia’s first-ever UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is rich with tombs, artistic drawings, and imagery that date back to the 1st century AD. Hegra was the second largest city of the ancient Nabatean Kingdom. Throughout the centuries, it’s been occupied by the army of Trajan, the famous Roman Emperor, and visited by iconic Arabian and Ottoman explorers.

Heritage Oasis Trail: This is where culture and history meet the great outdoors and beautiful scenery. This extended and stretched out hiking trail is covered by native palm trees and surrounded by picturesque mountains and rocks. Along the way, you run into a variety of shops that sell locally made foods, handcrafted items, and natural products.

Day 6 Drive to Medina: We start our day by having breakfast. Afterwards, we start driving towards our next destination: Medina, the first capital of Islam (622-661 AD) and home to the Mosque of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the second holiest site in Islam. In Medina, we will have an open day to allow you to explore and discover this historically and religiously significant city.

Day 7 Head to Jeddah: As usual, after having breakfast and checking out of the hotel, we start our journey towards Jeddah. Here, we take the scenic route along the beautiful Red Sea coast.

Day 8 Al Balad: On day 8, we get an authentic taste of local and Islamic history in the Old City of Jeddah (al Balad). A UNESCO World Heritage Site, al Balad was founded in the 600s AD, and it is rich with 500-year-old buildings, Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman-era architectural designs, cultural centers, and museums.

Day 9 The Corniche & Tayebat Museum: Alongside discovering Islamic and local history at the al Tayebat Museum, we will spend day 9 at the Jeddah Corniche. As we walk along the beautiful and scenic coast of the Red Sea, you can choose between many types of authentic cuisines to satisfy your taste buds, a variety of designer stores to shop at, and multiple live music venues to enjoy. To top it all off with a taste of luxury, the astonishing Jeddah Yacht Club is located right on the Marina for you to admire.

Day 10 Departure: After having breakfast and checking out, we provide you with transportation to the airport based on your flight’s departure time.
