ITINERARY:

DAY 01. (TUE) ARRIVAL TRANSFER: Reception at the international airport of Mexico City “Benito Juárez” transfer to the hotel of your choice and lodging.

DAY 02. (WED) MEXICO CITY / QUERETARO / SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE: Breakfast. Departure towards Querétaro, a World Heritage city, where we will visit the Aqueduct, the Ex-Convento de la Cruz, and the Historic Center. We will continue on our way to San Miguel de Allende. Afternoon to get to know this peaceful city where the great comedian “Cantinflas” lived and a place of residence for artists and intellectuals. The Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, the Chapel of the Holy House, the Church of San Francisco, and the Casa and Instituto Allende stand out as points of interest. It has a wide variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Lodging.

DAY 03. (THU) SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE/ DOLORES HIDALGO / GUANAJUATO: Breakfast. Departure to Dolores Hidalgo, where in 1810 the priest Don Miguel Hidalgo gave the famous “cry” at the beginning of the Independence of Mexico. There is the house-museum of this national hero and it is also the birthplace of the famous composer José Alfredo Jiménez. Continuation to Guanajuato, World Heritage city, annual headquarters of the Cervantine International Festival. In the afternoon we will enjoy getting to know this beautiful city, full of alleys and squares, which offers us such interesting places as the Alhóndiga de Granaditas, the Juárez Theater, the Valenciana Mine, El Callejón del Beso or the University. Its underground streets and avenues are unique in the country. The “callejoneada” is a classic
accompanied by a music student or Valencian tuna. Other attractions are the
Don Quixote Museum, the Diego Rivera house museum, and the Mummies.

DAY 04. (FRI) GUANAJUATO / ZACATECAS: Breakfast. We will leave for Zacatecas, a beautiful mining city declared a World Heritage Site, with beautiful facades carved in pink quarry, whose cathedral is the most outstanding example of Mexican baroque. Panoramic view of the city from Cerro de la Bufa, descent by cable car, and educational visit to the Mina del Edén. Optionally, you can participate at night in a “musical alley with Tambora” and go dancing at the disco inside a mine. Lodging.

DAY 05. (SAT) ZACATECAS / GUADALAJARA: Breakfast. Departure to the city of Guadalajara, the cradle of Mariachi and Tequila, which distinguish Mexico in the world. We will visit the main points of interest: Hospicio Cabañas with Orozco’s murals, Degollado Theater, the Cathedral, the Roundabout of Illustrious Men, the Plazas, and the Government Palace. Lodging.

DAY 06. (SUN) GUADALAJARA / TEQUILA / GUADALAJARA: Breakfast. Departure to the city of Guadalajara, to visit Tequila, the land of the agave. We will visit the distillery; see the whole process and have a Tequila tasting. Lodging.

DAY 07. (MON) GUADALAJARA / PÁTZCUARO / MORELIA: Breakfast. On this tour the first stop will be the Vicente Fernández Ranch as well as the Tres Potrillos souvenir store, considered “the largest cowboy store in the world”, you can visit as far as the guards allow and get to know a little about the interior of the Ranch as well as the grave of the esteemed artist; you will continue towards Pátzcuaro which means in the Purépecha language “the gate of heaven”. The city is famous for its colonial beauty and originality in customs and the local population. Located on the banks of Lake Pátzcuaro. Among its attractions is the miraculous Basilica of Our Lady of Health, the “House of the Eleven Patios”, the historic center, and the Island of Janitzio. In the portals of downtown Pátzcuaro, you can enjoy a wide variety of cafes and
restaurants with typical and international dishes. Continuation to the City of
Morelia. Lodging.

DAY 08. (TUE) MORELIA / MEXICO CITY: Breakfast. The Cultural Heritage City of Humanity is recognized for its student atmosphere and its magnificent colonial constructions of pink quarry: The Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Clavijero Palace, the Plaza Mayor, the Market of typical sweets, and the Aqueduct. Departure in the direction of Mexico City, arrival and Lodging.

DAY 09. (WED) MEXICO CITY: Breakfast. We will start the City Tour by visiting the historic center; the cultural heritage of humanity, as well as the National Palace (panoramic), the Plaza de la Constitution or Zocalo, the Templo Mayor Azteca, and the Metropolitan Cathedral, as well as its main avenues. Later we will visit the Chapultepec Forest and one of the residential areas most famous, as well as the Zona Rosa. I’ll go back to the hotel, then I have the rest of the day free. Lodging

DAY 10. (THU) DEPARTURE TRANSFER: Breakfast. At the appropriate time, you will be transferred to the Mexico City airport in time to board your return flight home.
