ITINERARY:
Day 1: Welcome to Guatemala. Arrival to Guatemala. Transfer to the hotel in Guatemala City. Hotel SUP: Barceló. Hotel FIRST: BW Stofella
Day 2: Chichicastenango Indigenous Market / Lake Atitlán (B). Departure to Chichicastenango, where you will see the most colorful and picturesque outdoor market in Guatemala. In the afternoon continue to Lake Atitlán; short visit of Panajachel before continuing to the hotel. Hotel SUP: Porta del Lago. Hotel FIRST: Villa Santa Catarina
Day 3: Santiago Atitlán + San Juan / Antigua (B). Lake Atitlán is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Today you will visit Santiago Atitlán, oneof the twelve villages that surround the lake. Departure in the morning by boat to the Maya-Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. Santiago also offers a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. Continue by boat to San Juan La Laguna (town visit + local indigenous cooperatives). Transfer again by boat to Panajachel Iafterwards drive to Antigua Guatemala. (x 2 nights) Hotel SUP: Casa Santo Domingo. Hotel FIRST: Villa Colonial.
Day 4: Antigua Guatemala + Coffee Farm (B). Visit Antigua Guatemala, a colonial city declared by UNESCO “Cultural Heritage of Humankind”. We begin in Antigua’s Historic Centre, starting from the Main Plaza and visiting the main monuments of the city. Afterwards visit to a Coffee Farm to learn about the history coffee and its production.
Day 5: Tikal National Park (B,L). Early morning transfer from the hotel to the airport, to board the flight to Flores, Petén. The majestic city of Tikal is considered the largest and most monumental of all sites discovered in the Mayan World. It was declared by UNESCO as a “World Heritage Site”. Enjoy a guided walking tour to visit the most important plazas, complexes, temples, ball courts, palaces and stelae. Also enjoy the tropical forest, nesting place of hundreds of exotic birds and the habitat of a wide variety of wildlife. Hotel SUP: Villa Maya. Hotel FIRST: Maya Internacional.
Day 6: AM at leisure / PM flight FRS/GUA (B). AM at leisure to enjoy the diferent activities offered by the Hotel chosen; relax at the pool; bike ride; hiking; etc. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to board a plane to Guatemala City.
