ITINERARY:

Day 1: Welcome to Guatemala. Arrival to Guatemala and transfer to Antigua. Hotel SUP: Casa Santo Domingo. Hotel FIRST: Villa Colonial

Day 2: Antigua Guatemala / Lake Atitlán (B) Visit Antigua Guatemala, a colonial city declared by UNESCO “Cultural Heritage of Humankind”. We begin in Antigua’s Historic Centre, starting from the Main Plaza and visiting the main monuments of the city. In the afternoon transfer to Lake Atitlán. (x 2 nights) Hotel SUP: Porta del Lago. Hotel FIRST: Villa Santa Catarina

Day 3: Santiago Atitlán + San Juan La Laguna (B). Lake Atitlán is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the World. Today you will visit Santiago Atitlán and San Juan La Laguna. Departure in the morning by boat to the Maya-Tzutuhil village of Santiago Atitlán, famous for Maximón, a character that is widely worshiped by the inhabitants of Santiago. The town also offers a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, woodcarvings and naïf paintings. Continue by boat to San Juan La Laguna (town visit + local indigenous cooperatives). Transfer again by boat to Panajachel

Day 4: Chichicastenango Indigenous Market (B). Visit to Chichicastenango indigenous market, where you will see the most colorful and picturesque outdoor market in Guatemala. In the afternoon continue to Guatemala City. (x 2 nights). Hotel SUP: Barceló. Hotel FIRST: BW Stofella.

Day 5: Tikal National Park (B,L). Early morning transfer from the hotel to the airport, to board the flight to Flores, Petén. The majestic city of Tikal is considered the largest and most monumental of all sites discovered in the Mayan World. It was declared by UNESCO as a “World Heritage Site”. Enjoy a guided walking tour to visit the most important plazas, complexes, temples, ball courts, palaces and stelae. Also enjoy the tropical forest, nesting place of hundreds of exotic birds and the habitat of a wide variety of wildlife.
